Throughout the school there are specific posters for what it means to follow the above rules. Please be mindful of these rules whenever on school grounds.
Students will receive a weekly Ask Me Note. This note will have student goals for the next week as well as behavior for that week. If students receive an Excellent Mark their names will be placed in a drawing for a Homework Pass and may receive a sticker for the Star Award.
Star Award Charts will be given each month. The goal is for students to exhibit exemplar behavior throughout the month. Teachers will reward behavior by giving students a sticker. There will be nine opportunities to fill a chart. At the end of the month, if Awards are completely filled students will have chance to participate in a school-wide celebration each month.
Grit Awards will be given once per quarter. If a student is showing determination and grit they may be able to receive the Challenger Grit Award.

4. When I Need Your Attention: I will either give students a time out signal or raise my hand with 5 fingers. For each signal, students need to stop what they are doing, find me, and listen for specific instructions.
5. Planner: All students are required to use their planner in every subject area. Assignments are written on the board/posted and need to be copied in the planner weekly. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the planner is filled out.
6.Restroom Use: Bathroom policy-One boy/girl student may use the restroom at any given time. When a student needs to use the restroom, he/she must raise their hand before getting out of his/her seat. The student must fill out the bathroom log, take the bathroom pass and place it on their desk. Students will need to try to return to class within three minutes. Students will not be permitted to use the bathroom during direct instruction time or transition periods.
7. Start of Class: Please enter the room quietly and orderly and sit in your assigned seat. Organize yourselves and get out all necessary materials. Once you are prepared, with a sharpened writing utensil, get started immediately on the warm up whereby directions will be located on the board. The warm up is generally a review of the previous day's lesson or a preview of that day's lesson.
8.During class: Have materials ready promptly. Students should focus their attention on the lesson; listening carefully and following directions. Make an effort to understand what is being taught and ask questions at an appropriate time. During direction instruction students are expected to stay in their seats unless told otherwise.
Throughout group work and independent work, students may then leave their seat as needed. This includes throwing things away, sharpening pencils, using the bathroom, getting a drink, etc.
